Indian Hammer Ranch and Montana Wine Beef

I “Indian Hammer Ranch” was founded in 1945, by my grandparents Art and Dora Buck. My grandparents took our fertile riverfront land, which had weeds taller than his tractor and started farming it. First crops were wheat and sheep, until the coyotes began dining on the sheep. Grandpa decided, cattle were a better option. My dad (Vincent R. Buck) and his sister (Elaine Buck) successfully showed the calves in 4-H as they grew up working the farm. In 1977, after my parents Vincent & Margaret Buck, purchased the ranch for my grandparents. Over the next few years the cattle herd, pasture land, and varies crop lands grew. In 2004 my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. My mother took care of him, until his passing in October 2011 at the age of 73. A few months prior to my father’s passing, my mother was diagnosed as a brittle diabetic and later with Dementia. Over the next 6 years my family and I cared for her until March 2017 at the age of 76. I am are very proud of my amazing and inspiring parents for being married for 52 years! I am much honored to be continuing the Indian Hammer Ranch “3rd Generation Legacy,” with all natural Montana Beef!
One evening, after a day fixing fences on the ranch, Bre was enjoying a glass of red wine outside. Her then two-year-old Registered Black Angus bull, Zeus the Gladiator, wandered over, hit her glass and, “drank the whole thing,” leaving her glass empty save for grass and slobber. It was an ah-ha moment. Now we are selling Montana Wine Beef from Indian Hammer Ranch, the place her grandparents, Art and Dora Buck, founded in 1945. She took over the ranch five years ago from her parents, Vincent and Margaret Buck, who ran it since the mid-1970s.
